London – 22 August 2025: Getty Images (NYSE: GETY), a preeminent global visual content creator and marketplace, today announced it will once again be capturing the upcoming Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 as the tournament’s Photography Agency, a designation it has held since 1999.
Getty Images will deploy a team of award‑winning sports photographers, editors and operations staff to cover every angle of the tournament across England from the opening game on 22 August in Sunderland to the final on 27 September in Twickenham. Its assigned World Rugby photographers will have exclusive shooting positions for every match and behind‑the‑scenes access to capture a range of creative editorial content in near‑real time, including official player portraits, on‑field action and atmospheric venue imagery.
Getty Images is also continuing its collaboration with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), supporting the Sports Photography Degree course and working with an additional group to champion the next generation of female content creators following Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 ambition to empower real change outside the pitch. The programme will offer 16 sports photography students with exclusive pitch‑side access, on the job mentoring from Getty Images’ expert photographers and an unparalleled opportunity to shoot live action from Women’s Rugby World Cup games at Franklin’s Gardens in Northampton.
“We are proud to see Getty Images’ longstanding collaboration with World Rugby continue and bring Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 to audiences around the world through engaging imagery which takes the viewer to the heart of the action,” said Michael Heiman, Vice President of Global Sport at Getty Images. “The wider collaboration at this year’s tournament also reflects our shared commitment to investing in the next generation of talent and championing women and girls in sport.”
Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Managing Director Sarah Massey said: “Our vision for Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 extends well beyond the pitch. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where fans, volunteers, staff, teams and players truly feel they belong. Working with Getty Images allows us to not only showcase the excitement and powerful personalities of this tournament on a global stage, but also to inspire the next generation of professionals—particularly women—by showing them that there is a place and a future for them in sport and in rugby.”
