New York – June 16, 2021: Getty Images, a world leader in visual communications, today announced that it is proud to be a supporting partner for the Robert Randolph Foundation’s Juneteenth celebration – Juneteenth Unityfest.

Organized by Robert Randolph and his eponymous charitable foundation, Juneteenth Unityfest is a national livestream event aimed at recognizing and celebrating Juneteenth. This event aims to bring together a variety of audiences to learn about Juneteenth while honoring the individual stories and traditions of the Black community that sprung forth from this milestone event in American history.

As a partner in the inaugural festival, Getty Images lends the depth and breadth of its award‑winning imagery and archive to bring to life and educate viewers on Black history.

During Juneteenth Unityfest, Getty Images will debut a video about the inaugural Getty Images Photo Archive Grants for HBCUs, that, in partnership with the Getty Family and Stand Together, aims to support the digitization of the invaluable visual history of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The launch invites all HBCUs nationwide to apply online through Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. PT. The Grants will commit $500,000 towards the digitization of HBCU’s photographic archives, including the digitization of up to 100,000 archival photos per Grant recipient.
