GETTY IMAGES TAKES HOME NINE PRIZES AT THE BRITISH SPORTS JOURNALISM AWARDS

London — 23 March, 2021: Getty Images, a world leader in visual communications, took home nine prizes at the British Sports Journalism Awards announced last week. First staged in 1949, the British Sports Journalism Awards are the oldest sports awards in Britain, recognising excellence in the profession of journalism.
Getty Images photographer Clive Mason won the overall award for Sports Photographer of the Year, while also being awarded first place for Specialist Sports Portfolio, with fellow Getty Images photographer Clive Brunskill taking home second place for the same category. Mason was also awarded first place for Sports Picture of the year, with Getty Images photographer Michael Steele coming third.
Getty Images swept the board for the Canon Sports Portfolio of the year category, with photographers Michael Steele, Alex Livesey and Julian Finney winning first, second and third place respectively. This was the second year running for Getty Images after Richard Heathcote took home the Canon Sports Portfolio of the year in 2020.
Getty Images photographers Michael Regan and Alex Livesey also won first and second place respectively in the Football Portfolio category for their outstanding imagery which captured the true spirit of the beautiful game.
