New York – April 15, 2021: Getty Images photographers received top honors at World Press Photo, the world’s largest and most prestigious annual press photography contest with two individual awards, a testament to the company’s extraordinary and diverse roster of photojournalism talent. The 2021 winners include:

  • Adam Pretty: first place Singles in Sports category for his work capturing athletes training for bouldering in Kochel am See, Bavaria, Germany amidst the COVID‑19 pandemic.
  • Ezra Acayan: second place Stories in the Nature category for his work documenting the eruption of the Taal Volcano in the Philippines.
The 2021 contest saw over 73,000 entries submitted by almost 5,000 photographers from 130 countries worldwide.
