Previewed at NVIDIA GTC, custom fine‑tuning empowers enterprise customers to create content through generative AI using their own branded assets and data

New York – March 18, 2024: Getty Images (NYSE: GETY), a preeminent global visual content creator and marketplace, in collaboration with NVIDIA, is introducing custom fine‑tuning capabilities for enterprise customers as part of its generative AI capabilities.

Powered by NVIDIA Picasso, a foundry for custom generative AI models for visual design, Getty Images’ new service will empower enterprises to customize and fine‑tune its creative generative AI models, using the visual style of their brands. Custom fine‑tuned models will enable users to generate on‑brand content that is safe for commercial use. The service is being previewed at NVIDIA GTC, a global AI conference running through March 21.

“Amid the rising demand for unique content to build consumer engagement, personalization and customizability have risen to the top of the list for brands to stand out in the marketplace,” said Grant Farhall, Chief Product Officer at Getty Images. “By bringing custom fine‑tuning into our suite of broader generative AI tools and services, we’re giving customers faster and more efficient integration into their creative process, better control over the look and feel of visuals they generate, and the assurance that the visuals they generate are commercially‑safe.”

Available starting in May, these new capabilities build on Getty Images’ growing offering for brands to leverage the power of generative AI, alongside the company’s expansive library of authentic visuals and Custom Content solutions. Getty Images recently introduced expanded controls and capabilities for AI‑generated visuals, including refine and extend, and will soon be releasing additional AI capabilities across its creative library of pre‑shot content. As part of the custom fine‑tuning service, Getty Images will incorporate advanced functionalities that provide even more control over image output, such as providing a sketch to guide the AI’s image generation, copying the composition of a reference image via depth map, and segmenting parts of an image to add, remove or retouch a character or object.

Getty Images’ API services are already being used by leading global brands and agencies, including:

Dentsu Inc.: The Japan‑based ad agency is using Getty Images’ generative AI service to power MAFA: Manga Anime For All, an app that can create manga and anime‑style content for marketing use cases. Dentsu Creative is also using NVIDIA Picasso to fine‑tune Getty Images’ model for leading membership warehouse retailer, Sam’s Club.

McCann: The creative agency harnessed generative AI to help develop an innovative game for their client Reckitt’s OTC cold medicine Mucinex, in which customers can interact with the brand’s mascot.

Refik Anadol Studio: Known for using generative AI in its artwork, the studio will be showcasing a rainforest‑inspired art installation at GTC, created using Getty Images’ AI model fine‑tuned with Refik’s rainforest catalog.
