Los Angeles – November 1, 2022: Getty Images (NYSE: GETY), a preeminent global visual content creator and marketplace, in partnership with Crown + Conquer, an independent creative agency working with top brands, today announced the next iteration of its editorial internship program. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from the world’s leading entertainment photographers, editorial team and brand experts.

Building on the program’s goal of shaping the next generation of talent, the intern will have the opportunity to photograph a range of editorial and commercial assignments, leveraging Getty Images’ editorial and photographic expertise as well as Crown + Conquer’s industry experience and brand relationships. These will include events organized by Crown + Conquer on behalf of their clients, as well as red carpet events, celebrity parties, product launches, live shows and studio portraits.

Getty Images’ and Crown + Conquer’s inaugural intern, Momodu Mansaray, quickly became an integral part of the team, covering a variety of industry events, including the 94th Oscars® red carpet, The NAACP Image Awards, The Film Independent Spirit Awards, Peacock’s Bel‑Air premiere party and Los Angeles Special Screening Of "Marry Me". Beyond photographing, Momodu had the unique opportunity to learn the ins and out of editing, event production, client relations, event systems and more. By the close of his internship, his work was featured in over 20 global media outlets, including Vogue, Vanity Fair, LA Times, and People Magazine.

Applicants must be 18 years or older at the time of application, based in Los Angeles and have access to a car to facilitate transportation to events. They must also be passionate about storytelling, content creation and pop culture, although no professional portfolio or experience is required. While the internship is open to all applicants, Getty Images and Crown + Conquer recognize that people of color and those with intersectional identities are underrepresented in photography and are particularly encouraged to apply. The application period will close on November 14, 2022, and the successful applicant will be notified in early January 2023.

Speaking about the internship, Getty Images’ VP of Global Entertainment, Kirstin Benson says: “After a successful first year, we are thrilled to welcome a new intern and continue to build a network of talented professionals within our program and support their growth beyond it. We are proud to be partnering with Crown + Conquer once again to provide this unique mentorship experience, as well as enhance the visual narrative both in front of and behind the lens.”

“Inspiring and shaping the next generation of creatives, especially aspiring content creators from marginalized communities, sits at the core of who we are as an agency, “said April McDaniel, Founder, Crown + Conquer. “This initiative represents our effort to not only give back to our communities but to also create the kind of change we want to see across our industry.”

“Within our first internship program, our inaugural intern photographed nearly 40 events over four months at some of the most prestigious events in the world,” said Neilson Barnard, Senior Director of Entertainment Photography for the Americas, Getty Images. “We are excited to extend this opportunity to another aspiring content creator to provide experience and expertise, as well as help expand their networks for future success in the industry.”

The successful intern will work as part of Getty Images’ editorial entertainment team and will be trained on all facets of the editorial photography business, including:
  • Creating editorial content (photography and videography),
  • Assigning events and client relations,
  • Staffing the picture desk, as well as video and field editing,
  • Using robotics and remote cameras,
  • Major event production, and more.
Upon successful completion of the four‑month internship at the end of April 2023, the intern will be:
  • Guaranteed portfolio and media placement,
  • Provided with a professional recommendation from Getty Images,
  • Equipped with a full equipment “kit” to continue honing and practicing their craft,
  • Added to Getty Images’ “preferred provider” list (if available and applicable).
